Sustainable Farming Association

The Sustainable Farming Association of Minnesota supports the development and enhancement of sustainable farming systems through farmer-to-farmer networking, innovation, demonstration, and education. Programs include: Farm Transitions workshops that address transition planning issues; a GrazeFest event series for farmers interested in grass-based livestock production; a New Crops project that helps farmers grow and market hard-to-find foods like quinoa, spelt, currant, and burdock; and Adjust 2015, which aims to use the collective wisdom of SFA’s farmer network and produce a curriculum to be used by beginning-farmer training programs. SFA also hosts several events throughout the year including an Annual Conference (February), Festival of Farms (June), Minnesota Garlic Festival (August) and Harvest Festival (September).
